This doesn't apply to anything currently going on in my life but when I hear such a complex truth put in such a simple way, I feel the need to share it.

Also, I finished reading the last Tiwlight book today....I sat in front of the computer for about 8 hours reading the pdfs that asecretworld sent me (thank you so much, again!!!!!!) because I was effing obsessed with it. I now desperately want to be a vampire, hahah.

So Christmas has come and gone. It was really awkward....Mom's in Texas, so we did Christmas on Sunday. First Christmas without seeing her. This is our first year without my Grandpa, so that sucks. And Clint is gone, too, obviously. All in all, it wasn't as merry of a Christmas as I'd hoped but it wasn't like, a big sobfest or anything.

I made awesome cookies and learned how to make carnatis (garlicky sausage things). Here are the cookies:

I got an email from Clint, saying that he got his care package and that I'm the best girlfriend ever, and I started crying like a big baby. I didn't think I'd miss him this much. So boo.

Anyway! I'm going to go clean my room and read Twilight. (I bought it for myself, lol.) I'm not totally Grinching out or anything, I just don't feel very Christmasy. I hope all of your Christmases (or Kwanzaas or Hannukahs or Winter Gift Giving Holidays) were fabulous and I'm looking forward to stories!

Ok....to recap:

Alright...Day Two bit me in the ass because, while he DID let me play my clarinet instead of the recorder, he told me I could do it in his office, privately. Instead, he decided to make me play in front of 50+ people...keep in mind I have not played my clarinet in five years. And he made me play FUR ELISE for Christ's sake!!!! It was the single most humiliating experience of my life, thus far. Yes, it even trumps getting pantsed on the playground in fifth grade.

Day Three bit me in the ass because even though a lot of the snow melted, the water turned to rain overnight and caused it to be really icy, and then it snowed like another 3 inches. Booooo.

Day Four: Being Done With Finals!!

Day four was supposed to be yesterday. I was supposed to have finished all my finals. Background: My ELAD final was scheduled on Tuesday but I couldn't go because of work. I made arrangements to take the test Wednesday evening. I showed up on time and she was 20 minutes late...AND THEN SHE ONLY BROUGHT ME THE FIRST PAGE OF THE EXAM. So I have to go back tomorrow and finish it. Arrrrgh.

Day Five: My Idiot-Proof Car

Karen just came and told me the dome light was on in my car. Lola (my car's name, for those that are unaware) knows that I'm a retard, so she comes equipped with a feature that turns off my dome light/head lights for me after a while so the battery doesn't drain. I am happy for this because if my car weren't idiot-proof I would have to go back outside and turn it off, which would involve putting on shoes and a coat, which I am totally uninterested in doing. So thanks, Idiot-Proof Car!

I will obviously have to ammend yesterday's 'happiness' thing.....because it came back to bite me in the ass!! In the meantime, I am off to take the first of my 3 finals...wish me luck!!

Day One: Sleeping In!

This morning, I woke up with a start at 7am, thinking I was late for school. I didn't realize it was Sunday, not Monday. I raced around the room, trying to find clothes that matched in all the chaos. Ran in the bathroom to brush my teeth and was thinking about my mental to-do list. Email the girls about the 14th, clean my room....go to Jason's.....Aislinn has a concert.... Yeah, I realized what day it was and I was absolutely thrilled! I threw off all my clothes and jumped back into bed with just a tank top and undies, and snuggled underneath the blanket like it was my freaking job. It was so awesome.

I really think it's time to start petitioning whatever powers are necessary to extend the length of a day from 24 hours to 36. This is apparently the only way I'm going to be able to get sleep until finals are over. I get off work at seven tonight...I so wish I could come home and go to bed, since I have to be awake at 3 am to drive into the city tomorrow morning, but I have a music project that's due tomorrow, as well as wrapping up that power point presentation that I thought was done but actually isn't :(

I JUST WANT SCHOOL TO BE DONE OMG.

I played DDR Extreme yesterday at Brunswick Zone in Niles, at Lori's boyfriend's 'Welcome Home' party. In 3 inch stiletto heel boots. On Heavy. I mean, I failed Love <3 Shine but at least I didn't fall down! It's been a while, don't shake your head at me like that!!!!


Seriously though I was too damned excited to see that DDREX. Cheryl et al probably think I'm a huge dork now, lol. I wish I'd have worn gym shoes, I probably would have kicked its ass.


I'm supposed to be taking pledge calls at WTTW this morning starting at 11 but I seem to have some strange stomach thing. I hope it goes away in the next hour, because my public is waiting for me!! (lol.)


Right now I have a really big (and really painful) cold sore on my lip from holding in all this stress lately. I've gone through almost an entire $15 tube of Abreva. I haven't gotten one of these stupid things since the Fall of 2006 (and we all know what happened then.) It hurts and I've been trying to be as mellow as possible to make it go away.


Last night at Jackie's house was a lot of fun, I haven't laughed like that in a long time.

I'm going to copy Fox and do a "Here is what I'm thankful for" post...as he so aptly put it, "This is where I express gratitude for the things that keep me from lighting random buildings on fire." Couldn't have put it any better myself. On with the list!

1.) I'm grateful for whatever serendipity (or plain old dumb luck) it was that brought me to NEIU this year. Obstacles have come and gone in the past regarding school and I feel like I've finally found the right fit as far as college goes. I'm actually learning and enjoying my classes, which hasn't happened since I was in highschool and taking Band and Choir.

2.) I'm thankful for all my friends, both old and new. I've had so many fantastic highs and bullshit lows this year...some of you have stuck by me (or been stuck with me, haha...I'm looking at you, Amy! Screw TaxRite!!) through it all since Day One, and others I have just had the good fortune of meeting this semester. Whatever the case, I love you and cherish you and I wouldn't have been able to come as far as I have (or be able to sustain the motivation to keep going) without your support.

3.) I don't think he'll ever see this but I'm so thankful for Pvt. Joshua (Clint) Hadden. He's made such a difference in my life in the year that we've shared, I feel like a different person. He's the reason I'm still in school right now, the reason I "drive on" when life's nonsense tries to get the better of me. It's because of him that I am more confident in myself and my abilities and I honestly can't imagine what my life would be like without him in it.

4.) I'm grateful for my family and the fact that they're always there for me when I do something stupid and need help. I bitch and moan and gripe about them a lot, but when it comes down to it, family is family and we love one another no matter what. I wish I could have a better relationship with some of them, but there's been irreparable damage there and I'll take what I can get.

5.) I'm thankful that I have a job right now, even if there is constant drama and I'm finding it hard to deal with some of my coworkers. There are thousands of people out there that don't even have a job to complain about, and I'm going to try to do a better job of remembering that.

6.) I'm thankful to the United States of America for electing Barack Obama as the 44th president!!!! Woohooo!!!!!

7.) This one's a little silly, but I'm pretty grateful for Darren Hayes for making such fantastic music. He helps me articulate my emotions when I think I'm going crazy and I can't figure it out on my own, which is always nice.

Ok, I'm pretty sure I covered everything in this little love-fest. But I'm sure I'll think of more to add later.
